What are bioidentical hormones?
Bioidentical hormones are made from a natural source and then altered slightly to be like the hormones naturally occurring in our body. These hormones work in harmony with each other to keep our body and mind in balance. When they are out of balance, the body will start showing symptoms to let us know that something’s not right.
These hormones include estrogens, progesterone, testosterone and DHEA.
What are the symptoms of hormone imbalance?
Women– whether you are 16 or 80 you may experience symptoms such as:
- Symptoms around your cycle: PMS , moodiness, depression, irritability,
- Irregular cycles or no cycles at all
- Hot flashes
- Night sweats
- Difficulty sleeping
- Brain fog
- Loss of motivation
- Loss of muscle mass
- Decreased libido
- Increase in waist size
How do I treat Hormone Disorders?
In my practice, I use saliva testing because in my experience it is more accurate than blood testing for hormones. Once tested, I find the best balance of these hormones for your body. (Every person has an ideal balance for their body) I only prescribe doses within the range that our bodies should be producing naturally.
What is your thyroid?
Your thyroid is a small gland in the middle of your throat that is mainly responsible for energy levels, metabolism, and temperature regulation. It produces T3 and T4 that helps regulate your energy levels and metabolism.

What are symptoms associated with thyroid disorders?
- Weight gain
- Inability to lose weight
- Dry skin
- Brittle nails
- Loss of the outer third of your eye brows
- Hair loss
How do I treat Thyroid Disorders?
Thyroid health may require supplements to support the thyroid to function as well as bioidentical hormone replacement. Blood or biofeedback testing should not only look at the TSH, but also whether you have antibodies against your thyroid, a free T4, free T3, and certain vitamins and minerals.
Since thyroid disorders are often connected with heavy metal toxicity a state of nourishing the thyroid followed by a detoxification through diet, lifestyle, and ion foot baths is effective for improving thyroid conditions.
What are your adrenal glands?
Your adrenal glands are located on top of your kidneys and are responsible for your flight or fight responses. They control any type of stressful situation and affects all systems of the body. When one’s body has been under stress, it continues to call upon the adrenals to produce cortisol to keep the body functioning. Without the proper care and nutrition of the body, the adrenal glands will become fatigued which can cause many symptoms.
See more information about Adrenal Stress.

How do I treat adrenal disorders?
Adrenals can either take years to become fatigued or one stressful incident. Adrenals can be healed over time with life style changes, diet alterations, supplements, possibly a prescription of cortisol for a short time, and other healing modalities.
*Note: When dealing with hormones and the endocrine system, it is very common for more than one area to be unbalanced. When the body has a decreased hormone, it calls upon the other areas to pick up the lagging area causing stress to other hormonal glands as well.
